Yianna Americanou is an award-winning filmmaker. She studied film in the US and TV and Film production at the University of Bristol. She has worked for BBC Bristol and her short films premiered at the Official Selection of Rotterdam IFF, Oberhausen ISFF, Hamburg ISFF and many more. Urban International distributes her debut feature film .dog and has won Best Directing, Best Cypriot Film and Actor in the 20th Cyprus Film Days International Film Festival. .dog is now on ARTE, MUBI, HBO Max, Aeroflot, Qatar Airways and Emirates. Yianna is working on two new projects; a new feature film which has received script funding from the Cyprus Cinema Advisory Committee and was developed through MIDPOINT Feature Launch 2022, and a TV Series for the International Market.
